YASISO STYLE

HAND DYED FABRICS for home and fashion

"Art shall not be separated from life: things that are good to look at, and bad to be used, should not exist."

Bruno Munari Italian Artist 1907-1998

Wear the colors

I was captivated by the bright colors when I was little. I was never able to use pencil in all my studies I always used the colored dough. I don’t remember the names, I don’t memorize anything, I confuse numbers and letters, I say words and I speak in clicks: I can’t, but colors, shapes, and places I can hold them. I don’t confuse them, I don’t suffocate them, I don’t cripple them, I don’t worry about them.

I hardly get lost in space, but in words I do. I created products that can be sold and put in the fastest market, then I put my hands slowly in the matter for myself. The first fabrics, the combinations of fabrics and the clothes with which I imagine them, I see them at first single and then mixed fused on matter and matter.

YASISO is the acronym of my two daughters: Rokhaya and Sofieotu. Designer and architect, I have two mixed-race daughters. It was with the birth of Rokhaya, after a visit to Dakar, that everything was born. As often happens after motherhood, I was unemployed but with a large amount of batik cotton in my hands: I started making samples and assembling it with other Italian fabrics.
